Seriously some improvement here! This is by using @banishacnescars dermaroller kit and also their pumpkin enzyme mask. I also use @esc_skincare twice daily. Still have some more work to do but I’m overall very happy than I’ve ever been before!
I’ve been battling acne since I was 16. My first appointment with a dermatologist, he gave me a benzoyl peroxide cream which made my skin very dry and irritated and when I asked him what I can do about the acne scars and redness he simply told me to just wear makeup…ugh!!! He also tried to get me on Accutane which I declined. So yeah after 10 horrible years dealing with moderate/severe acne I thought my acne was caused by the products I was using or by my diet. But after my loooooong countless research (by the internet no less) I realized that it’s hormonal which makes sense because I always break out during my menstrual cycle. I looked up supplements that are good for hormonal acne. These are the ones I found:
Maca Root
Vitamin B6
Zinc
Evening Primrose Oil.
After adding these supplements to my routine, I haven’t had a major breakout in 2 months! And twice a week I use the pumpkin enzyme mask and use the dermaroller every 2 weeks which has faded my acne marks significantly For years, having acne really left me feeling anxious, embarrassed, self-conscious, and just so angry at myself and my body. One day when I was at my old job working the morning shift, a maintenance worker comes in takes one look at me and goes, “Wow, your face is really red.” Omg I wanted to crawl under a rock! I immediately shut down. I hated the idea of going out and worrying about people constantly judging my appearance. Not only has my skin made a lot of progress, but how I feel about myself. I no longer feel ashamed and for the first time in a long time I’m happy with myself and hopeful for the future! I would also love to give a shoutout to @prettyprogress23, @_myskinstory and @asprinkleofhealthandbeauty. You ladies rock and have taught me so much! I just want to thank you for sharing your stories and that we’re not alone in this. Very excited to be taking more progress pics so stay tuned!
